Use and materials   There is a wide range of design choices for sintered metal components, and their areas of use are continually being enlarged. Our components are chiefly used in mechanical applications and are manufactured in production series from a few thousand items to several hundred thousand items. The size of the items can vary from less than one gram to more than one kilogram. Components are used for everything from transmissions and fastenings to electromagnetic products. In cooperation with our customers we continually discover new opportunities for using sintered metal and the benefiting from the advantages of the process. The basic advantages include the following: low unit costs – fine surfaces – homogeneous, uniform components – high dimensional accuracy – great flexibility with regard to design and materials.
