70 years in business and new website launch

The first of November 2013 FJ Industries celebrated the company being 70 years in business. Our Chairman Karsten Andersen took us through the history of the company from horseshoes to global high-tech steel component subcontractor. The financial crises, the shot down of the Maersk shipyard and last but not least the start-up of our production in Sweden and China just when the financial down turn hit us, has been very painful the last 6 years.

Before that period the company has been able to gain profit more or less every year and now we are well on our way to recover and we are again looking at a brighter future for the company.

Gathering our Danish employees, the board members, the shareholders and the special guest of the day 93 years old Martha Christensen (one of the founders’ widow) we also took the opportunity to launch our new website. We are very proud finally to have a modern and responsive website that represents our global business card. We are expecting to have a Chinese language version at the end of the year.

If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact us.

Happy anniversary – we are looking forward to collaborate with all our customers for the next 70 years!

Heading for TS 16949 certification

World class quality was on the agenda when employees at FJ Industries attended seminar and workshop on implementing ISO/TS 16949.

What’s world class quality? What do our customers require today? How can we advance from National League to Champions League?

These were some of the key issues when FJ Industries together with the consulting company Storm Management invited employees to a seminar and workshop on the implementation of ISO/TS 16949 at FJ Industries.

”Our markets have increasingly stringent requirements for quality and documentation – and therefore we need to have more focus on error prevention and continuous improvement”, says CEO Lars Wildenschild.

The international quality standard ISO/TS 16949 is with its origins from the automotive industry particularly effective in reducing error margins by reducing variation, preventing mistakes and making continuous improvements.

“That is why the process has now been initiated to upgrade our quality system from ISO 9001 to ISO/TS 16949, so we can move up into Champions League Quality, just like the automotive industry – and with great commitment from all employees, the process is already well underway”, concludes Lars Wildenschild.

High volume investment cast and machined components

New big order for investment cast and machined component

After almost 2 years of development FJ Industries is now finally into serial production on a historical big order for an investment cast and machined component at its Chinese plant in Ningbo.fuelrail04

Newly appointed Sales Director Joachim Riisager says: “This project has been a great journey for our company. The part we are producing is an engine system component for one of the leading Automotive OEMs in the world. Once the whole testing phase had been completed at our and our customers’ plant things have moved very fast.”

The first 4 machining centers were installed during March and April this year, 2 more machines will be installed during September and October and even 1 or 2 more machines are needed during Q4, 2013.

“This project adds to our competences of producing high volume investment cast and machined components for the international OEM Automotive industry,” states Joachim Riisager.

New big order for FJ Sintermetal (Ningbo) Powder Metal Co, Ltd.

The 100% owned daughter company FJ Sintermetal (Ningbo) Powder Metal Co, Ltd., located in Ningbo city just south of Shanghai, has just been awarded a new big project for one of the world’s leading suppliers of structural products for the Automotive industry.

The order is for 4 different brackets for doors in passenger cars produced in powder metal technology. The total volume is 2 million pieces per year and the project underlines the significant growth which is taking place at FJ Industries’ Chinese operations.
